AI-VORTEX was at r26 2026 in Bochum, the Ruhr region's entrepreneurship and innovation festival, meeting founders, investors, and corporates shaping Germany's AI ecosystem.

Before Future Tech Fest, there was r26. On July 1, 2026, we packed up and headed to Bochum for the r26 Unternehmertum- und Innovationsfestival (r26.ruhr), the Ruhr region's answer to the traditional business conference: less trade-show floor, more festival, and it delivered exactly on that promise.

A Festival, Not a Conference

r26 sets out to combine entrepreneurship, technology, culture, and genuine encounters in one curated gathering, and the venue backs that up. Jahrhunderthalle Bochum is a converted 10,000 square meter industrial hall, exposed steel trusses, glass roof, and this year a full-size ferris wheel installed in the middle of the exhibitor floor. Over 3,000 attendees, 100+ exhibitors, and 50+ speakers moved through seven thematic tracks: artificial intelligence, deep tech and defense technology, sustainability, startup ecosystems, digital commerce, future of work, and community-building.

Why We Were There

The AI track alone made r26 worth the trip: main-stage sessions on where AI is actually delivering ROI inside enterprises, not just demos. We spent the day doing what we do best, talking through how a sovereign Company Brain, Ask-Docs, and Telxo fit into the document and communication workflows of the founders, investors, and corporate teams walking the floor. With 20+ hours of dedicated networking time built into the format, conversations had room to go deep instead of the usual thirty-second elevator pitch.

What We Took Away

The clearest signal from r26: German and DACH enterprises are past asking whether they need AI, and are now asking specifically how to deploy it without losing control of their data. Every serious conversation we had, in finance, in manufacturing, in professional services, circled back to sovereignty and auditability before it circled back to model capability. That's exactly the problem we built AI-VORTEX to solve, and it's a big part of why we're back on the road again for Future Tech Fest 2026 in Düsseldorf.
